About

When I started developing web pages, it was on Notepad on a PC. It was before the days of Dreamweaver, when building a web page was considered “programming”. If you were a client, you could have images, you could have text, and you could have tables. And that was about it. Oh, we could make letters fly around or an illustration of a flame pop up on top of something. As long as it was about an inch and a half high, we could do it with an animated gif.
Then there was Dreamweaver, then there was Flash and ecommerce, dynamic html, a few more fonts, and php took it all to a whole new level.
I do other things, mostly run TheCommunity.com. But I wouldn’t have been able to get TheCommunity.com off the ground if it weren’t for my being able to do web sites at the same time to keep the bills paid.
It’s a great line of work. It’s valuable for the clients. It can have real impact. And mostly, most of the time, it’s fun.
